Waiting For Shade Poem by Satish Verma

Waiting For Shade

Who was ready
for the truth, when the city burned.
A successful lie buries like an eel.

The telling. I am
dying. How can you not see? Where
you are moving towards beheading.

Coins for the temple.
But God was sleeping. My confidence
was shaken to take a rebirth.
