Waiting Out Winter's Weather Poem by Rin Kathy

Waiting Out Winter's Weather

There the girl wandered,
Her hair coated with confetti snow,
It glitters like mad,
as she slowly approaches,
The forest is like the dead,
cold and unmoving,
intimidating her,
and yet, she moves forward,
Her hand reaches out,
The glove grasping a tree trunk,
That quivers as if to run away,
The girl pushed on,
Into a clearing,
And off to the right is a boulder,
Upon the rock she sits,
and waits out the snow,
as the snow envelops her,
Dry, no
Warm, no
Peaceful, yes
she waits until a hawk voice calls out,
and she rushes out of the death,
up a hill,
to a home where shes will stay for now,
but she wishes for the rock,
the peacefulness,
the quiet,
and later she returns,
and there is all the home she needs.
