Waking Hours Poem by Jaan Zhou

Waking Hours

In my waking hours
I lulled the voice within
easily thru the din

I slowed my walk
to listen to the talk

In my waking hours
I numb my senses dull
drowning them in the mull

I close my eyes
to see the lies

In my waking hours
I shut the door
to my inner core

I offer a smile
to disguise the bile

In my waking hours
I moved in line
hoping to shine

Past my waking hours
I lay down my armour
