Walk Poem by Josephine Lauderdale

Walk

It's always there
With the others in the room
Dancing around it
Trying to make it drunk

It's conditions
I have made well known
But it is not listening
Nor does it have to
Because if it did
The dance card would be full
And no spin for me

It occupies itself
when I am not there to be with it
And it takes itself for a walk
Anywhere, Anytime

Without a leash

Don't get lost now
Because I am sleeping

But

I will find you when I wake up
