Walk Away Poem by Kristien Blend

Walk Away

Silence between us
I say something
you reply with one word
I keep my face blank
but inside I'm screaming
I'm pounding on your chest
Pulling at my hair
Shouting and crying
Begging you to stop
shutting me out
Pleading with you to
look at me
to be real
But I keep it all inside
I bite my tongue
until I taste blood.
How long until
I just turn, take my heart
and walk away?
