Walk Free Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Walk Free

Militancy
Politicians
Of the day
And fairness
Of colour
Scout free
Like a mad
Elephant
Walking
Free of charge
Stupefied
In conceit
Proclaiming
First in power
First in canon
First in action
Or reaction
Brutality
And scorn
Sarcastically
Dominating all.

Power
With authority
Illegitimate
Adding
To beauty
And blindness
Smile
Thereupon
As two edged
Weapon
Cutting
Both the ways
Playing
A variety
Of new games
Bloodshed
Each time
Or heinous
Crime
Victimizing
A common man
Offending
By means of
The youth
Wealth,
And wine
Not meant
For the crime
Acting both
At the same time
Devil and divine.

Basking
In the sun-shine
While sitting
In the lap
Of so called
Sovereign
Enjoying-
Pulling it
By the beard
In the courtyard.

Struggling-
Humanity
For oxygen
In suffocation
As such
Compassion
Stands
Strangulated.
