Walkie-Gawkie Poem by Amarantus Lauriere

Walkie-Gawkie

Brighter and brighter turns the sky; Sense of self, dimmer and dimmer.
Whence the scissor of solitude begins to blow off steam,
Whenceforth the stitch of solicitude can no longer sew up separative seam.
The departing moon, barely lasting out dawn's simmer,
Can no longer o'erdraw the remnant shimmer.
My lingering wishes, running out all illusion's gleam,
Can no longer o'erstay
the transient dream.
Only supine soles slogging through slimmer and slimmer.

The path of love, too lorn, too long,
Me, astray, alone, how to proceed along?
Glistening dews feed flowers with colorful flairs,
While in blankness fit this numb gawker.
Fresh air cheers up birds in pairs,
While in limbo leaves this lonely walker.
