Walking Poem by Lee Gelis

Walking

Walking hurriedly through poorly shoveled
Sidewalks I come across a very interesting
Arrangement of people, from short to tall
As they slip and fall on this poorly shoveled
Sidewalk trying to beat the crowd towards
Wherever their lives may take them as long
As it gets them away from wherever they
Are at the moment that their hands become
Too cold to even share a wave with a passing
Person who is too cold to continue walking
On a poorly shoveled sidewalk in order to beat
The crowd and catch a bus or a car in order
To stop walking on a not so empty sidewalk
Only to arrive at a not so empty destination.
