Walking In Your Groove Poem by Karen Touzalin

Walking In Your Groove

I wear your slippers whenever you go away
Sliding my feet into the worn grooves of your toes.
The smooth curve of your heels are so easy to settle into...
and I feel so close to you,
Just by walking in your groove.

As I walk around in shoes several sizes too large
Stepping tenderly, it feels familiar, like the way you walked into my life,
and ran away with my heart.

So I wear your shoes,
Walking in the steps you left behind,
Trying to keep your pace,
following your lead,
and feeling your groove.
