For me,
You left them behind
Footprints from your shoes,
Embedded in the sands of time
Filled with your history
And all your memories
You want me to pursue them,
Hoping your shoes will fit eventually
So that I can be just like you
But I need to be just me,
Make my own footprints is what I’ll do
With each step I take,
My path becomes clearer
I will never fill your shoes,
Or be like the man in your mirror
