Walking Out Poem by RIC BASTASA

Walking Out

Rating: 5.0

i like your way of telling me about yourself this morning.
you walk out of your job and you are saying
now you are free

i know the feeling
when i first had my freedom

i faced my superiors
looked at them straight in the eye
and i told them

i quit.
i turned my back at them
i took the last nine yards
and slammed the door at their faces

like a bird i flew away
i did not look back i did not have any regret

i am brave, i praise myself.
i am happy and free and live in simplicity.
