Walking Through The Darkness... - Poem by Sahil Mamtani
Walking through the darkness,
Wonder where the road ends!
My foot slowly lifted above the ground,
Gently going about,
Wondering what the darkness hides for me,
Afraid! ! !
I wonder what the darkness holds for me,
Passing through the small alley,
Never knowing who's around,
Never knowing who's awake,
Constantly alert,
Heart beat thumping,
Bold as I was,
Cowardly as I felt,
I never knew what was lurking ahead,
Felt as if it were a dream,
I thought as if it was a game,
And suddenly,
Here it came,
All the secrets of the future revealed,
You'd think as if that could heal,
Thought destiny would change,
Thought I was superior, thought life would fall on my knees,
But it didn't...
Everything went as a flashback,
And I was falling,
Falling from the edge of life,
So passionately had I constructed it,
Never to know that everything must have an ending,
Yet I forgot where the beginning stood,
And as I fell the memories grew over me,
Lifting my anguish,
Healing my past,
Harvesting my present,
Storing for my future,
Hiding behind the bushes,
The mystery of life,
More complicated than letters that make it a word,
As I fell,
From the mountain and hills,
From the plateaus and canyons,
I was falling,
It came to a stop,
There I went,
Lurking into the darkness,
Wondering what it held for me!
