Walls Of Art, Walls Of Separation Poem by S. R. Lavin

Walls Of Art, Walls Of Separation

Rating: 3.5

I am a scrap of paper, I am art on the wall.
I am resurrection I am om-consciousness
I am miles of products for sale
I am a humid day not far from the ocean
I am eternity, I am pre-owned atoms.

I cannot be more than I am
nor can I be less.
I am buy-one get one that’s all she wrote.

Home is the back seat of a 1990 BMW.

Were I to love again what would that look like?
A lonely stretch of beach and vast expanse.

You see a dictator ruling the world.
Like Napoleon, envisions a world to rule over.
Like Christ, he wants to love even those
who are unlovable. Like Caesar, thwarted
at the moment my dream was to come true.

Vermont is north from here.
Mine eyes have seen the glory.
I have been to the mountain top.

I am a human being.
