Waning Crescent Poem by Arani DattaGupta

Waning Crescent

Rating: 5.0

I lay on my bed, listlessly,
my hair silvered with all I've seen
But the world is still not done with me-
Poisonous to my field of green.

I wage my war on the wound inside,
I fight my fears with all my might.
Alas, I seek comfort in the other side,
Swayed by its picturesque delights.

Now, I stare into the void of my dreams,
Its white paradise tumbling into a fall-
As the consequences of living tears as its seams,
Irreversibly, inevitably...taking it all
