Wanting Poem by Priscilla Monroy

Wanting

Rating: 4.8

You've never said it
but I can see it in your eyes
something passed between us
that our eyes cannot disguise
A simple smile from you and my heart would skip a beat
for one touch from you
in my heart forever is were I'll keep
Knowing yet not knowing
that it could never be
my mind always tried to tell me
what my heart could never see
Spent years wanting
What I thought only you could give
pushing true happiness aside
waiting for you so I can truly live
Not realizing the pain I caused
to someone close to me
Someone who wanted me
the way I want you
someone who saw in my eyes
what I saw in yours
Someone who wanted my touch
as much as I wanted yours
Someone who held on
no matter how many times I tried to leave
I couldn't see that everything
I wanted from you
was always right in front of me

I gave this a 9 because of the recognition of yourself. This is very important. A wonderful message to write about, and you did it well. Greenwolfe 1962
