Wars, Lies And Videotapes - Poem by Mimi Eagan

Did you watch the parade hear the crowd
cheering the proud marching band with drums rolling
ratta tat tat
ratta tat tat

Did you see medals blazing upon military breasts flags
waving in clean crisp air with drums rolling
ratta tat tat
ratta tat tat

Did you catch soldiers strutting past military's might
guns at the ready eyes right with drums rolling
ratta tat tat
ratta tat tat

Did you tune in the news showing shocking shots to burn
in your brain dazed babies stumbling over their own
dead mommies flies hanging from sightless eyes staring
at death wandering naked with drums rolling
ratta tat tat
ratta tat tat
