Was She? Poem by John Ngirachu

Was She?

Was she falling? Was she?
When she bared
When we dared
Imagine with she around
The grating friction
w'd throw the ship aground.
Was she dreaming? Was she?
Of the gleam in his eye
Or the silent flatter
The heart's silent patter?
But silent streams
Like salient dreams
invade my head
Curses fly to roaches
about the bread
Love's frequency is
Often what she'll miss
not the drunken fiery kiss.
