Washington's Vision Poem by Patrick Fealy

Washington's Vision

Washington's Vision
Angels waiting in the wings
beating wings on high
Fear yee not the juggernaut
You are heaven's spys
Devils all around us now
can't the people see?
Lust and anger blinds them all
thinking they are free
Everywhere the innocent
try now just to run
Men of freedom know the score
their fight has just begun
I have seen the enemy
It looks to me like war
The devil he is laughing still
I've seen him laugh before
Washington once saw a Queen
back at Valley Forge
standing in his company
gazing at the floor
Queen of heaven standing
standing at the fore
She was oh most beautiful
Such beauty to adore
'Son of the Republic
Listen now and learn
Angels will be coming soon
when the country burns
When the world is filled with sin
wrath will come this way
Fear yee not the Juggernaut
Let the children pray'
