Wasted Eyes Poem by Beloved Adejuyigbe

Wasted Eyes

In shadows cast by flickering moonlight,
My wasted eyes on you, burning bright,
In silence, they yearned, seeking a sign,
Lost in a love that felt so divine.

But you, oblivious to my affection,
Unaware of my heart's deep connection,
You stared, yet I held you in a snare,
Captivated by a love so rare.

For the wasted eyes on you,
Whispered tales of love so true,
A symphony of words left unsaid,
Yet in my gaze, the truth was spread.

So many things you did, unaware,
In your actions, a clue I couldn't bear,
With every glance, my heart would race,
But you saw me not, in that crowded space.

Yet, I am not a fool, my dear,
In the depths of my soul, I am clear,
For my wasted eyes on you,
They revealed a love strong and true.

Though you may never comprehend,
The depth of love I tried to send,
My wasted eyes on you confess,
A love that's timeless, I must confess.

So let the world think me a fool,
For in my heart, love's flame will rule,
For in my wasted eyes, a love so rare,
Forever etched, a silent love affair.
