Water Water Everywhere Poem by A K Rajagopalan

Water Water Everywhere

Water Water Everywhere
But not a drop to drink!
Was the saying about sea
Once upon a time we know
And now that has changed
By the water policies
Of our newly found leaders
Who have sold out all that
Ground water for a song
To corporates brought here
To do business in India
In the name of reforms and
Economic Liberalization!
To be sold back to us
At Hundred times that much!

CocoCola, Pepsi and what not?
With an overdose of pesticides
To put us all in Hospital beds
To extract all our life savings
In the form of medical bills!

Two Mangoes in one stone!
Is that reforms we deserve?
Liberalizing what to whom?
Has Economy liberalized
For the poor Indians?

Liberalization my foot!
