Way I Live As Me, The Poem by Hannah Barham

Way I Live As Me, The

All the things I tried to love,
All the people I was ripped open for,
All the hurt I tried not to feel,
All the pain that screwed me up inside,
All the memories I struggle to forget,
All the hope I'm scared to feel,
All the love I'm ashamed to share,
All the doubts I can't assuage,
All the fears I could never tell,
All the hopelessness I can't escape,
All the helplessness I can't outrun,
All the loss I have to take,
Everything I am, and all the mistakes I make,
They define the way I am,
And there is nothing within my power to change
The way I've lived my past
Or the way my past has changed the way I live as me.
