We Poem by Nellie Isabelle Steward Cooper

We

We shall always be friends...

To think not tis simply absurd! ! !

Strange, astonishing and inexplicable

How the old ties loosen and fall away

Once it's time

And it's our last walk together

It may be in whatever weather

But I much prefer thick snowfall

Fond memories of the distant past

The rhythm of life will be different

All things have somehow changed

So easily, so finally...without fuss

And no longer is it we or us

But it's me, me, me... forever

And forever amen.... it's me

Thinking of such makes me lonely
