We! Crossing The River Poem by Martin Elonge

We! Crossing The River

Three we were,
As we moved across the plane.
The grass was green,
the sun shun stiff.
The wind blindly blew,
There we were.

Three we were,
As we surged the val, not knowing when.
The backs, against the rough.
The tough, seeming not to bend,
The dust with We in the hollow bellow.
There we were.

Three we were,
Then came 'Fourthy'
The Snake, Sky gaze.
Raining venom on We.
The Lady, the fourth.
There we were.

Three and one we were,
At the 'V', a wallowing stream.
For refreshment we drank.
Then come A Lady and lay she,
Like a Tree trunk, across the river.
There we were.
