We Got Free. Poem by Leah Ayliffe

We Got Free.

Rating: 2.3

The world expands before my eyes
And yet never felt more in reach.
Where dreams are greeted at each dawn
And fulfilled without having to close our eyes.
I dance, I twirl,
I’m dancing and twirling
down the rabbit hole wearing a smile.
‘Cause my world is wonderful
My reality is wonderland
Filled with pixie dust days and glamorous nights
The music frees me, frees you, frees us;
The grass beneath our feet welcomes us.
We are one.
And the lights shine on, shine bright
Colour lit sky of dreams and hopes,
falling gently in dust.
I reach out, scream out, my call is answered
By a sea filled with people
Who are just like me, like you, begging for a revolution.
And for the first time I see
I am not alone.
We are not alone.
We’re free.
