We Played Destiny Poem by Thompson Ogunsina

We Played Destiny

Rating: 4.0

Our differences as wide as the ocean
Distance farther than the moon to sun
Yet we danced to the melody of love
Satisfy our hungry soul from its breast
Warmed our cold, naive heart in its warmth
And had our first night under it wings

Now DESTINY calls
Divides us with it forced weight on us
Jesting our burnt heart
See the fools,
Who tried to rewrite the stars.
And change I, DESTINY.
