We Raised Machines Poem by Marcondes Pereira

We Raised Machines

We raised crowds of machines,
we were lords of factories.

We created labor market's stories,
we, lords of industrial lanes.

Sewing machines killed finger weaving.
Daily, we are working, but we aren't living.
