We Reason, Therefore ' Litter Be! ' (1) Poem by Long Tooth

We Reason, Therefore ' Litter Be! ' (1)

'Litter be, litter be, litter be, litter be! ' (2)
Hear our future's judgment, 'Litter be! Oh, Oh, Oh! '

Yes, dinosaurs still roam the earth (more you than me?)
We find their footprints (left in mud) recast in stone,
their poop now fossilized, eggs future toast last day!
But that's not 'litter' I regard. Such scars require
no thought at all though pooping does give pause at times
and poetry's the same (both better when they flow!)

'Litter be, litter be, litter be, litter be! '
Hear our future's judgment, 'Litter be! Oh, Oh, Oh! '

It's human thought that trashes earth, its vanity!
Thought's barely blip in life on earth, mere overtone
of melody, of notes life sings on merry way
to what God knows (if not His will?) It weaves attire
on loom of jocund season's breath. Its colored rhymes,
kaleidoscope, a snowflake's dream of what men know!

'Litter be, litter be, litter be, litter be! '
Hear our future's judgment, 'Litter be! Oh, Oh, Oh! '

Can Camelot be grasped by man? Can what we see
approach (the beauty of a tree) , our love (wind's moan
on Calvery) ? Grown's Grace exceeds the Child at play?
May God fan flames that spark what's tender in desire
to grok His Love (help soothe the soul's most littered crimes)
and Science help us to acknowledge Truth's 'Hello! '

'Litter be, litter be, litter be, litter be! '
Hear our future's judgment, 'Litter be! Oh, Oh, Oh! '

(1) A tortured twist on Descartes 'I think, therefore, I am! '
