We will never forget
Your country called,
To war you went,
For our freedom,
We will never forget.
To be afraid,
For our tomorrow,
In time of war,
Cannot comprehend sorrow.
Fighting for us,
Against our common enemy,
As the Allies united,
For them was their duty.
Comrade and friend,
Fighting side by side,
At the home front,
And on the front line.
Casualties of war,
As families torn apart,
Soldiers lost in battle,
Ripping out a nations heart.
Proud and pleasant land,
We did stand tall,
As those men, women and children,
Made the ultimate sacrifice for us all.
In their graves,
Shroud by the silence,
Of young men's hopes and dreams,
Having made such a difference.
For those still living,
And those that have passed,
In our hearts and minds,
Shall their memory ever last.
Blood, sweat and tears,
For him and her,
In their finest hour,
We shall always remember.
