We Talk Of Lofts And Paris Poem by R.B. OBrien

We Talk Of Lofts And Paris

We talk of lofts
and Paris
and writing
under ruby
satin sheets
naked
in bed
with the rain
as loud
as our love-making
pounding in rhythm
to the bedsprings,
the Louvre,
our arrondissement,
where the cold
stands at bay
and rain
no longer covers
our fate
like sadness
and kisses are
as coveted
as Giselle's
outside Palais Garnier
under a heated terrace
and a Gargoyle umbrella.
