Do we still want our girls back?
Back as girls or mothers?
Young egrets, kept in a nest
To be nurtured
And tutored
In readiness
To the though tomorrow
Life in this clime promises
Birds that never flew yet,
Snatched as young chicks,
But add precision
And soon we shall be talking about
Missing chibok ladies!
May the God of Niger forbid! !
Yet I ask,
Why hunt them down?
Like the plumes of the great herons
Their innocence is their undoing,
Aesthetics to a certain inhumane caprice
Long proliferated barbarism
May the demons in sambisa be exorcised,
And may our girls return home _ girls,
So help us God.
