Weakness Poem by Rian Pongratz

Weakness

I'm terrified of this weakness,
Scared it'll push me to the edge.
Because there's no way to stop it,
It'll continue till I'm dead.

It tells me to take the blade,
Demands I cut my skin.
It'll scream until its satisfied,
And my faith is wearing thin.

I'm not strong enough to fight it,
I'm weak and I give in.
It'll yell and scratch and bite,
Until I've lost my will to live.

It'll tell me that I'm worthless,
That no one will ever care,
And I'm so scared of the outcome,
That I don't see anyone there.

It'll take away my strength,
My dignity, my fight.
It'll keep on telling stories,
Until it convinces me it's right.
