Weakness Is Old Age's Sad Friend Poem by Shalom Freedman

Weakness Is Old Age's Sad Friend

WEAKNESS IS OLD AGE’S SAD FRIEND

Weakness is old age’s sad friend.
It comes for a visit and does not wish to leave.
It surprises at the wrong time,
And leaves us unable
To meet old friends.

Weakness tells the world to leave us alone,
But it itself clings to us
Will not let us go
And tells us
It loves us so much
We will surely die with it.
