Child,
You see these dark clouds
That cast shadows on your spirit,
That foretell a future of gloomy thunderstorms,
That presage the passage of prickly rains
Shall soon fade away,
Weep not, child.
When the world scorns your dreams, and o'erwhelm you with visions of misfortunes,
When mortals mourn your fate and laud your loss,
When life feeds you with flamboyant failure
And reality makes a banquet to celebrate your defeat
Weep not, child.
When your heart pitches a plot to dethrone you,
And your thoughts bewitch you with the juju of despair,
When your mind becomes choked with insane thinkings,
And drives you to pen a letter to death,
Weep not, child.
When your tent of hope is o'erturned by grief,
And the tempests of life
Arise to smash and strike your ship,
When your faith falls into the abyss of dogged doubts,
And happiness shuns your camp,
When nightmares seem your bosom buddies,
Weep not, child.
Child,
To weep not, in the face of goading storms
Is a feat that gods seldom attain,
How much more mortals?
But hearken, child,
A lifetime lament of loss can not return your losses in life.
Though the storms yank and drag you beneath the sea,
Your heart of hope must not quit.
Look up, child,
Though you fail, fall and faint,
This winter will depart,
And your beauty will spring forth,
Wipe your tears, Child,
Enough with the songs of sorrow,
Look on, child, this is your flowerbed,
This trying phase is but a prelude to the bloom of your beauty.
