Once I stayed in a very tall building
I could see everything in the world
I couldn't stay there forever
Everything I needed was out there to see
And I said to me, go get it
Now away from my lofty heights
I walk on the streets down below
The glittering streets were not made of gold
Tears flowing faster than rain
The bread for man was made of pain
And now I tell myself
Did I feel better seeing from a distance
Or knowing the truth in this trance
I said to myself
Would I do better here or there
My eyes are open but
I could be blind to truth
