Welcome Home Poem by Andy Basore

Welcome Home

Rating: 2.0

Monotonous day of typical.
But wait-
are those footsteps?
On the doorsteps I hear?
*knock knock knock*

Oh exaltation! This cannot be.
Can't it? the fanfares play
in my mind-that is,
I take flight towards the door
*Knock knock knock*

And there it is-
that old familiar face,
which has so swiftly eluded me
all of this time
*knock knock knock*

Typical Greetings- but
the joyous musical still thunders,
and- all the cherished memories,
have returned- and so have
*your friendly embrace*
