Survival Poem by Andy Basore

Survival

We scurry around
yelling about human rights,
We scar the ground
with influential words that blight
and in the name of independence, we fight

We wage war for nations that can't hold their own
while our own
just continues to crumble
Don't you think that before we reached for the apple,
that we should have ensured our own survival?

What a poem. Gets right to the point.
