Were You On My Doorstep? Poem by Satish Verma

Were You On My Doorstep?

Half-truths bite.
They are chiming bells. Deep blue
my heart asks, are you my fear?

The body drags on
the dust road. It is not going to push me.
Enough pain has made me a rock.

What saves you when
silence speaks? A poem in a bubble
makes several moods of smile.
