What About Me Poem by Gerard Parks

What About Me

What about me
makes you think what you do
Why do you say these things
Am I really just a mirror
And reflect what you are
I am my own person
I will be me
Nothing but the love that she has
Has the power to change me
And can give me happiness
So don't try to change me
It will happen only when needed
Most irritate me
with these foolish attempts
To make me Fold
I only get stronger
Better to protect her
I have a heart
And it is not cold
This is my mind and my body
But my heart feels
And it always has
