What Are You Doing At The Hour When I Miss You Poem by Enache Dan

What Are You Doing At The Hour When I Miss You

What are you doing at the hour when I miss you?
When my heart silently cries out for longing,
Through night dreams, embraced by the moon,
I quietly wonder, burning in my soul,
Where are you,
my joy that in this life
seems to be forbidden to me?
I will paint you in the heart of the night, through verses,
On the canvas of my thoughts, I will sketch a wandering again,
A fairy tale will slide into my soul... Where are you,
my love, my crazy illusion?
I will touch you with my dry lips,
Turning myself to ashes in the pyre of endless nights,
I will hide you between the pages of a book,
among words metamorphosed into desires...
And at the evening hour, I will open the book,
When my body burns in the secret of incurable longing,
On the pages scorned by time, a tear of bitterness will flow,
and my longing will flicker in my soul, ever more intensely...
I will read about you, from time to time,
among the countless news from this endless world,
And my days will slide by, empty and powerless,
So devoid of your light, my ray of sunshine.
