“what Awaits Her' Poem by monica halim

“what Awaits Her'

She didn’t know
And she didn't have a clue
What awaits her in Maine?
She was brand new
She was the subject of the day again
She would watch the raindrops from the sky
It would make her smile
But she knew she has to go back
She just couldn't escape
So why not walk in style
And in the hallways everyone just gaped
She sat on a bench
And her eyes caught something
A beautiful rose and she was just memorized
The bell rang her awake her from the daydream
She went to get up and to get her things
She walked back home
To be greeted by her green eye cat
She got a cup of tea and checked her mail
She began to start her work
More and more days passed
Everything was changing for the better
She was finally having a blast
More years and years passed
She found herself working as a banker
Then her day came
With the white dress on
Father by her side
And before she said “i do”
She remembered what awaits her in Maine.
