What Do I Toil For? Poem by wamsee 001

What Do I Toil For?

Sitting in the afternoon sun, so warm in the March
Looking at my computer screen but into nothing
I am dazed, amazed and confused
By the enormity of the opportunity that lies before me
And the frailty I feel in my stomach, my legs, and my bones
And I ask myself, if this turmoil is required
What would I achieve by this?
And what will become of me?
None of that I am sure of
But I again ask myself
What else do I do?
On this sunny afternoon, sitting before my computer?
Or on a rainy day or in the chill of the winter?
For this toil is the meaning in itself
And the goals are just excuses! ! !
