What I Did - Poem by O.T. O'Neill

Wasted prayers
To redeem my own damned soul
Wasted tears
On the dark mystery of it all

Wasted hate
Battling what could not be fought
Wasted fear
Running away just to get caught

Wasted shame
On things I chose to hide away
Wasted blame
On deeds you pushed my way

Wasted time
Bowing to these underlords
Wasted rhyme
Strumming to these simple words
