What I Think Is True Poem by Long Tooth

What I Think Is True

Some folks will tell you God is dead,
But faith can't prove that's true,
Or show that God is real instead!
There's nothing you can do
To satisfy the hunger, heart
Must feel but cannot hide,
Deception is a loser's art
That's closely tied to pride!

Humility is what serves man,
Most company far worse,
The Bible tells it best it can,
God's heart in chapter, verse!
Pronouncements offered food, not stone,
Provision what we feel,
His Grace serves all! Should works atone
For sin you know is real?

True comfort only faith provides,
You hope to gain through fear,
Assurances that warm insides,
Like alcohol and beer?
Divest yourself of knowledge then
That does not taste of God,
In faith, embrace the great "AMEN, "
And God won't seem so odd!
