What I'Ve Always Wanted Poem by Rin Kathy

I've always wanted
to be out of the ordinary
to be separated and on my own
that is what I still want
but when I was young
I cared about none of these things
I argued and fought
not thinking ahead
only in the present
and only of myself
some of the greatest people in history
were unknown
by anyone
they had parts of themselves
that they didn't know
and everyone believes
that they know themselves
yet how can you?
You want to be
recognized and famous
but think about those people
they are snobs
they only care about themselves
and the present
like children
