What I Want Poem by Jerry Abrahamson

What I Want

All that I have
Ever wanted in life
Is to be left alone
And to live my life

But it seems
That everybody has
Ideas about how I should live
About who I am

But, it gets a little touchy
When you stop and think
I'm the guy who had his foot crushed
In a car accident in the early 1960's

And the funny thing about it
Is that I still have the foot
After all of the operations
After all of the experiments
