Does belief come from the
intelligent expansion of the heart
or does it ultimately engulf the mind
rendering us gullible
by pushing the brain's two halves apart
If I could believe implicitly
unconditionally
in the promise of a Thereafter
and I believed that I could shadow your footsteps
once more see your faces
once more hold your hands
and once more hear your voices
then, and only then,
in such belief
could I have faith
and then rejoice
