What Is Lost - Poem by S.E Carolan

It's hard to think tomorrow
could be harder than today
It's hard to face the future
when you havn't got a say
It hurts to think
I'll leave you
when I really don't want to go
These words I cannot tell you
For you do not want to know.

They say that come September
when the leaves are on the ground
by then I will have left you
I'm nowhere to be found
Sit out in the garden
sit under our favourite tree
The place we would sit for hours
and talk about our dreams.

Think of me in Summer,
Dream of me in Spring
Wish for me in Winter with the wind and rain it brings

Talk of me to people
who never came my way
tell them how I tried so hard
-fought and fought to stay
Tell them how it got me
though I never once gave in
and know this when I tell you
that I never, ever will.
