What Is There To Want - Poem by Robert 'Cajun' Landreneau

so what is it I wish for
if i were to dream
a fast race car
or a dish of strawberries and cream

no what i need is
something that will make me whole
not something that is his
something that can end the cold

if i am to dream
then let it be far from reality
if i have to scream
i would call on its finality
