What kind of world is this?
A house upon a house,
A road upon a road,
But I have never seen a tree upon a tree,
A horse upon a horse,
A bull upon a bull.
What does it mean, then,
To be upon each other's heads?
Do you know why?
A tree does not grow upon another tree?
Because nature does not allow
One to stand upon another's shoulders.
A man does not walk upon a man.
These buildings rise high into the sky,
But they will never take you to the heavens.
You will remain on the ground forever,
Because gravity pulls you down.
So tell me, when did you forget,
It is the roots, not the heights,
That truly help you grow?
