What No Promise Can Shield Poem by ashok jadhav

What No Promise Can Shield

What no promise can shield from time's decree,
The heart must learn to face without disguise;
For vows are frail against what's meant to be,
And hope itself must weather changing skies.
No word once spoken forms a lasting wall
Against the ache of loss or years' demand;
We fall despite the oaths we meant to call
Our armor, built of faith we could not stand.
Yet in this truth, a quieter strength grows—
To stand unguarded, honest, and awake;
For life asks more than what we think we owe,
And takes what even promises can't take.
Thus wisdom learns, where certainty is stilled:
The bravest hearts need no promised shield.
